Buttermilk Belgian Waffles
Classic fluffy Belgian waffles
Equipment
- Belgian Waffle Maker
- 2 medium mixing bowls
- Whisk
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbs sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups buttermilk (room temperature)
- 1/3 cup butter (melted)
- 2 eggs (room temperature)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In medium bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In other medium bowl, whisk buttermilk, butter, eggs and vanilla extract.
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, whisk until combined. Do not over-whisk. Let batter rest for 10 minutes.
- Heat the waffle iron, brush iron with some vegetable oil. I use #2 setting in the Cuisinart Belgian waffle maker.
